“Don’t Mind, It’s Holi!”

In the month of Phagun, the atmosphere is perfumed with the flamboyance of colors. The children tarry with baited breath for holi, the festival of frenzy.

This year, SNVP celebrated this occasion with a self-styled chutzpah. The Principal  sprinkled fragrant flowers on each and every member of her huge family. This beautiful gesture was not just over whelming but also conveyed the message of a safe Holi where minimal water is wasted.

An enticing ballad was presented by the students of SNVP to commemorate the devotion of the legendary Prahlad and also the victory of good over evil. The entire campus was enveloped with applause and energy. It was a sparking event, indeed.

Tips for Exam Success

Every student has his own way of studying to achieve success in exams. Some like studying in the early morning, some like to do late nights, some like studying all through the year while some believe that last minute study is effective. Whatever your method is it is always better to be thoroughly prepared for your exams and there should not be a last minute rush.

Given it’s the time of the year when many are either sitting exams or about to over the coming weeks, I thought I would share my top tips for exam success-

  • Avoid unnecessary talking outside the exam hall before the exam. It’s too late to do anything now and listening to others about what they have revised, or not, might just damage your confidence
  • Read the paper/ exam question carefully (note how many questions need to be answered)
  • Decide on which questions you will answer.  At first you might tick all those you can answer and then narrow them down further by preference if you have too many.
  • Divide your time equally in proportion to the marks available for each question/ sub question.
  • Re read the question, highlighting any key words
  • Make an answer plan. Even if it is only brief notes beside the question it will help you cover all your points and give a structure to your answer.
  • Start answering the question, sticking with the time allocation you planned out and referring back to the question so you actually answer the question and not go off track.
  • Write clearly – the examiner cannot mark what they cannot read! Leave a line space between your main points/ paragraph to help the examiner mark your work.
  • Avoid the post-mortem analysis after the exam with friends and other students.

All the best for the examination to all the SNVP students…………..
